Homestyle lube recipe

Most lube you buy at the store is fucked up one way or another. Thankfully, you don't need it!

Ingredients

This lube is very simple, really just four ingredients:

Ingredient Notes

Aloe: All aloe gel you buy at the store is aloe juice that's been thickened and preserved. Same for online shopping. If you find aloe juice that you can buy, use that, but I'd recommend finding a reputable source for powdered aloe with no funny business. Oh and if you're mixing the aloe from powder, you should start from distilled water. We don't need a slew of minterals or chlorine in the mix.

Xanthan Gum: Its thick! Xanthan gum is thick and a bit slimy. You can get this stuff anywhere very cheap, any food or cosmetic Xanthan gum should be fine.

X-Lube: This is the SLIMY stuff. It's like the goo in Alien, like Alien vs Predator. Good stuff but really hard to work with on its own because it like to goop around like egg whites.

Lactic acid: This is important mainly if you're putting this in a vagina or any other acidic hole. But be careful! The 88% lactic acid that you can easily buy as cosmetic grade is dangerously acidic. Handle with gloves and goggles, as if it's acid or something. You must test pH constantly while making this lube, so get some good pH strips, especially the kind that provide more accurate measurements for acids. Or you can use an electronic pH meter, but remember those require frequent calibration so you should double check with pH strips anyway.

Bonus items

Probiotics: if your hole of choice doesn't have the good bugs in it, consider dropping a few capsules of the right kind of probiotics into the mix. But check the ingredients, the ones meant to be taken by mouth might have some stuff in there you don't want.

Grapefruit seed extract: Idk why but the woman who invented this recipe likes to add a few drops of the stuff to hers.

Mixing

This stuff is going to be very, very thick, so mixing should be done in the right order.

First, if you're mixing aloe from powder, do that first. It's extremely clumpy and stubborn. Dump it in the water and mix quickly, and mush it against the sides of the bowl or jaw to break up the clumps. Leave it for a while (maybe up to an hour), stirring occasionally as the clumps disperse.

Next, adjust the pH, targeting 4.5. If you overshoot it, sorry! You need to start over. Go a drop at a time until you get the feel for this, and mix well before testing.

Then, add the xanthan gum and X-Lube and keep stirring. At this point, if you're doing this in a jar, shaking is especially effective.

Test the pH again. If it's off at this stage, it's really hard to adjust but it can be done with a LOT of stirring and patience. But it's easy to screw up since the thickness with prevent it from homogenizing.

That's it! You now have a lot of lube! It might keep for up to two weeks, but one week is probably a safer bet. Happy sliding!

Future work

The one place this lube fails is osmality - we just don't know if it's a good osmality! Hypothetically it should be pretty low, and maybe too low, but without a test it's hard to say. If you have an osmometer, get in touch! infoforwomen@posteo.net : Click Here To Send Email
